Pure Happiness

Pure Happiness

Mental health and self-care have become more important than ever over the last year in a half. With so much negativity going on around us, it almost seems impossible to focus on being positive, or keeping a happy mood. During these tough times, we wanted to create a product that would help you boost your mood naturally, and bring you pure happiness. We did this by combining some of the most studied supplements that aid in raising your serotonin levels to help you get to a place of peace and happiness. We will take a look at the ingredients we added to ‘Pure Happiness’ and briefly explain what they will do for your mental wellbeing and brain health.

The 1st ingredient to look at is Turmeric. This beautiful, bright, golden root that you will find in curry powders and many Indian dishes. While turmeric boasts several health benefits perhaps one of the most interesting is its ability to contribute towards an improvement in symptoms of depression. This is because turmeric is said to have incredible anti-inflammatory properties, which could reduce the inflammation associated with major depressive disorder. You will start to notice a correlation between illness in the human body and inflammation. As doctors continue to study the causes of many auto-immune diseases, they are finding one of the most common links is inflammation--which is why you can find this ingredient in a few of our products.

The next ingredient is 5-HTP or 5-hydroxytryptophan which is a little more tricky to pronounce. 5-HTP is a chemical byproduct of the protein building block L-tryptophan. It is manufactured commercially from the seeds of an African flower known as Griffonia simplicifolia. 5-HTP operates in the central nervous system by boosting the production of the chemical serotonin. Serotonin levels are super important because they can affect sleep, appetite, temperature, sexual behavior, and pain sensation. You may notice to hear the word serotonin a lot in this article, and that's because Serotonin is the key hormone that stabilizes our mood, feelings of well-being, and ultimately HAPPINESS. This hormone influences your whole body. It permits brain cells and other nervous system cells to communicate with each other. By positively increasing serotonin levels, you will start to see a lot of areas of improvement which will all aid in overall wellbeing.

After that, we included some magnesium, which has nicknames like 'the original chill pill' for a reason. Studies link low magnesium intake with a higher risk for depression and suggest that increasing magnesium can significantly improve symptoms of depression and anxiety — in some cases, as effectively as an antidepressant drug! While you can find magnesium in leafy green foods, most people aren't consuming enough of it, and adding a supplement is a great way to increase your intake naturally. Magnesium plays two important roles in the brain, which is why it's used to improve the symptoms of depression and anxiety. 1st, It blocks the activity of more stimulating neurotransmitters and binds to calming receptors, resulting in a more peaceful, resting state. 2nd, it helps regulate the release of stress hormones like cortisol, acting as the brake on your body’s nervous system.

The 4th ingredient in pure happiness is, Ginkgo Biloba. Said to boost circulation and influence activity in the brain, ginkgo is used as an herbal remedy for mental health issues like anxiety and boosting your mood just like some of the above ingredients. One of the most common reasons people take this herbal remedy is to improve memory, and some studies have shown ginkgo Biloba to be an effective treatment for early Alzheimers. Improved brain function usually leads to an improved mood as well. If we can get our brain functioning higher, this will allow less energy used on daily tasks, which will lower stress and improve our mood.

The last ingredient we included is St Johns Wort. St. John's wort is widely believed to boost moods and provide some relief from depression. Researchers suspect that hypericin and hyperforin(found in St Johns Wort) may increase levels of certain brain chemicals, like serotonin. People struggling with depression often have low levels of serotonin and other neurotransmitters. St Johns wort has a lot of science backing its benefits, but with anything, please consult with your doctor, especially if you are already taking a prescribed anti-depressant. By itself, there are kits of studies that show this plant can be taken effectively to treat mild depression.

There you have it, Pure Happiness. loaded with some of nature's best mood boosters, we wanted to provide everyone with a natural alternative to combat a negative mood. As we approach the winter months, it's more common to experience mild symptoms of depression, so do everything you can to stay on top of your mental health. Exercise, diet, and proper supplementation will be great tools for anyone.
